the film tells the story of Frank Lucas, a black guy who had the mafia working for him in the heroin trade in vietnam-era NYC. engineering the “cadaver connection,” frank smuggled dope out of vietnam in the coffins of dead soldiers. the man was a gangster.
ridley’s film is grade A entertainment. he’s not breaking any molds but he is reminding us what a competently crafted...

Personally. I was underwhelmed by Hotel Chevalier and was surprised at how good Darjeeling is. I still think Anderson’s best hope at love from the Academy is his production design.

Julio Lizano, 22, a Latino young man, was shot multiple times at 2113 W. Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park at about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14, and died about an hour later at County-USC.
