infy EAST COAST ALERT: Edward Hopper at the National Gallery
infy’s coming to you from the east coast this week with some happenings in our nation’s capital.
At the National Gallery of Art is the largest retrospective of Hopper’s work outside of NYC in a quarter century. Known for his plain depictions of American life, Hopper became popular in his own life among the public that saw itself in his work.

The exhibit features a film narrated by Steve Martin including archive photos and newly produced footage of the locations of Hopper’s paintings. Interviews with curators, scholars, and fellow artists complete the film.
The exhibition is through January 21, 2008. Passes are not required.
