it goes by many names: toad in a hole, one-eyed jack etc.
i just learned of this treat yesterday.
TOAD IN A HOLE RECIPIE
1 slice of bread
1 egg
butter*
Butter both sides of the bread liberally. Add the buttered slice to a skillet on medium heat. As the slice begins to brown, punch a hole in the center with a shot glass. Crack your egg into this hole, yolk and all. When you suspect the egg has cooked on the heat side, flip the whole thing. Remove after a minute or two for an over easy egg, longer for over medium.
To be enjoyed at 2am with LOST, an irresponsible amount of tapatio, and a dash of cilantro.
