Ok, so anyone who has stumbled out of a bar at 2am knows about the gloriousness that is the Los Angeles Danger Dog.  Amazingly wrapped in bacon and served with peppers and onions and served by an asian/mexican lady who cooks this whole thing on wheeled cart on the sidewalk.  Awesome.

for you fly over states

i’ve recently discovered that LA has things going on not covered by the sterling journalism of US Weekly. if my native friends don’t mind, i’m going to be using the plural nominative “we” to describe myself + the denizens of los angeles. we get no respect. i know this because until i moved here a year ago, i didn’t care about LA, believing it to be overrun by leggy blondes blowing greasy agents in parked hummers on the 405. take heed you “others”…LA’s not so bad. things you don’t know about los angeles until you live here:

• LA is not douchey, west LA is douchey
• anything cool is probably from here
• there is an entire population east of la brea that are very normal people
• there is an entire population east of la brea that are professional hipsters
• actors are either rich and famous, rich and not famous, or poor
• tex mex is not mexican
• whiteys have been pushing “not tacos” on the rest of the country (and unsuspecting angelenos) for years
• LA is big. not big like “oh shit it’s 20 minutes away”, big like “you live where? fuck you.”
• there are millions of people not employed by the film industry
• there are millions of people barely employed by the film industry
• every funny colored country on that little plastic globe eats their own kind of food…and they don’t stop eating it when they get off the boat
• hollywood is not hollywood. beverly hills is hollywood. hollywood is in fact terrible.
• 4 out of 5 trannies disagree
• blue skies. sunny. 75°. if it rains, goes under 68° or over 82° people get pissed
• the valley is not LA. i don’t make the rules, i enjoy 80’s movie locations as much as the next guy
• i think there is a beef between us and oakland-san francisco (yay area!!), and pretty much the rest of california
• the smog makes for great sunsets and even better emphysema
• LA has a subway
• langer’s. canter’s. bay cities. the pantry. norm’s. in-n-out. carney’s. !!DANGER DOGS!!
